I’ve been DYYYYYYING to share Millie and Ben’s wedding! :) The KNOT featured it last week, so I am jumping on the chance now that I’m free to share it myself!
A STUNNING location, amazing blooms, fabulous details, joyful families, extra-smiley wedding party and two amazingly, laid back people full of LOVE and life and so much JOY! :) This was the essence of Millie and Ben’s wedding day! :) They tied the knot at Ben’s family get-away home just outside of Fish, Creek in Door County, Wisconsin! They wanted something laid back, personal and full of the amazing beauty of the summers they have spent in Door County……the water, the breeze and the lush and rocky shorelines! :) It was perfect!
Guests had an amazing view of the lake AND Millie and Ben as they said their vows on the lawn next to the house under the giant shade tree. Drinks, a beer truck, and appetizers, made by Ben’s uncle, were near the outdoor rock patio with dinner on the outdoor tennis court. Lined with strings of lights and candle light from the tables, guests dove into their 4 course meal and amazing dessert trio, again, made by Ben’s fabulous Uncle Geoff! :) Dancing under the stars with the cool, lake breeze made the night complete! :)
HOORAY for you, Millie and Ben! :) We just LOVE LOVE LOVED your big day…and I am so thrilled to share it! :)
Smart, BEAUTIFUL, charming, SUPER duper cute, and business smart are among the many adjectives I’d used to describe her! She’s eager, she’s full of passion and she’s FOR SURE gonna make it…for sure! :)
We first met over a year ago at the Minneapolis Photo Center, where I teach a few intro to wedding photography classes a year! She walked in, bright eyed, chipper and ready to soak in the entire weekend of shooting and learning; with her smile plastered on her face, she stuck out her hand eagerly and introduced herself. She had started her business and was in the midst of growing and changing and wanted to grab direction and goals by the horns! :) Amongst the questions, note jotting and shooting, she began to formulate a plan and jump on her “LAUREN IS AMAZING” train! :)
And boy, the progress that this girl has made with her photography business within the past year is AMAZING! She has vision, she has passion and she is so eager…..three HUGE qualities that make her so successful! :) Her blog is chalk full of fun engagements, fabulous weddings and her outgoing personality!
Women like Laure inspire me. They are contagious to be around and I find myself just drawn to her upbeat personality and fervor for life! She is unwilling to settle and is so eager to make her dreams a reality…..Three cheers to a talented and BEAUTIFUL lady, Ms. Lauren! :)
I was looking forward to Liza and Andrew’s wedding for a loooooong time! Their adorable charm, sweet and genuine personalities and fabulous love story….not to mention their flawless aesthetic and vision for their wedding at Cedar Hill Farm in River Falls! It was highly anticipated the day! :)
I found myself smiling through the day quite often! It was little details and little moments that did it…..like when we walked unto the hotel room to find Katie, the Maid of Honor, sewing one of Andrew’s sisters charms into Liza’s wedding dress because it was just a small way Liza could honor Anna who had died a year prior. Or when Liza and her Dad were getting ready to walk down the isle and Liza looked over with tears in her eyes out of sheer excitement and unmatched joy. Or when all the parents gathered around the couple to pray for them at the ceremony and bless their marriage. Or when toast after toast from parents and wedding party alike, exclaimed of their quirky cuteness together; and stories were shared of just how PERFECT they were for one another! :)
But my favorite moment……my favorite moment happened during the ceremony! At the end of the ceremony actually. After Andrew and Liza were pronounced husband and wife and gleefully pranced back up the isle, their parents soon followed. All together, they followed! :) Walking back up the isle as one unit, arm in arm with huge smiles on their faces! It could had been the amazing music choice, “Ho Hey” by the Lumineers, but there was not a dry eye in the house! :) I believe that this moment was one of the most raw and beautiful moments that symbolized two families becoming one. Arm in arm all 4 of them joined together to take a stand for their kids and bless their new life together…their life together as husband and wife! :) What a cool moment and what an amazing family structure Andrew and Liza have as their rock(s) back home! :) I think so many of us watching had tears in our eyes knowing how important this kind of strength in a family can be!!! Gosh, it was cool!!!!
Congrats Andrew and Liza! :) What an amazing day….and we were so thankful to be there for you! :)
