We spent a summer evening together romping through a gorgeous green-forest and ending up chasing the light at the family pumpkin farm in central Wisconsin! :) Kim and Tony wanted to incorporate their love for Wisconsin summers so I think we planned the perfect night together. They even decided to incorporate Tony’s firefighting details….he is a firefighter in Eau Claire, at the very same station that his Dad and Grandpa were at when he was young! He even pulled out his Grandpa’s old helmut…super cool! :)
Wahoo for amazing summer engagement sessions and a double wahoo for an even more fun winter wedding for them! :) Happy Friday everyone! :)
Um…have you heard of CAMP WANDAWEGA?!?!? I caught an eye of this AMAZING place a few years ago and have been *yearning* to have a reason to visit (and shoot) there ever since! It’s an amazing 1950′s, retro-meets-lands-end style camp that looks like it belongs in the movie “Moonrise Kingdom”! :) It’s amazing!!!!! With a HUGE treehouse, many sleeping cabins, an old-school style tent area and perfectly curated vignettes all over the property! :) You MUST check it out if you find yourself in South Eastern Wisconsin anytime soon! :)
So when Laurie e-mailed me with these prefect visions of shooting her engagement session at Camp Wandawega, I was jumping up and down in my office! I mean, really….I was THAT excited! Because, really….Camp Wandawega plus Laurie and Jon was sure to be AMAZING! :) Laurie is a sweet, kind hearted, wonderful photographer in Milwaukee and her Jon is equally as adorable! Our entire time together, I was just in awe of how these two communicate and love one another…they are sweet. They are genuine and they are SO in love! I found my cheeks hurting behind my camera because *I* was smiling so much during our afternoon together. We chatted about upcoming wedding plans, her SUPER SUCCESSFUL wedding photography business and his hopes and dreams for being a awe-ing musician! :) These two….talent oozes from them, kindness pours from their heart and smiles just radiate on their faces….and you can SO tell how much they love one another! :)
I believe that a key to any good relationship is respect and unwavering support for one another (through twists and turns, hopes and dreams, successes, ideas, and adventures)…and man do these two GOT IT! :) I *CAN NOT* wait to photograph their wedding and stand by them as they become husband and wife next September! :)

I’ve been DYYYYYYING to share Millie and Ben’s wedding! :) The KNOT featured it last week, so I am jumping on the chance now that I’m free to share it myself!
A STUNNING location, amazing blooms, fabulous details, joyful families, extra-smiley wedding party and two amazingly, laid back people full of LOVE and life and so much JOY! :) This was the essence of Millie and Ben’s wedding day! :) They tied the knot at Ben’s family get-away home just outside of Fish, Creek in Door County, Wisconsin! They wanted something laid back, personal and full of the amazing beauty of the summers they have spent in Door County……the water, the breeze and the lush and rocky shorelines! :) It was perfect!
Guests had an amazing view of the lake AND Millie and Ben as they said their vows on the lawn next to the house under the giant shade tree. Drinks, a beer truck, and appetizers, made by Ben’s uncle, were near the outdoor rock patio with dinner on the outdoor tennis court. Lined with strings of lights and candle light from the tables, guests dove into their 4 course meal and amazing dessert trio, again, made by Ben’s fabulous Uncle Geoff! :) Dancing under the stars with the cool, lake breeze made the night complete! :)
HOORAY for you, Millie and Ben! :) We just LOVE LOVE LOVED your big day…and I am so thrilled to share it! :)
