jose villa workshop : part 2

If you haven’t already understood from my other blogs posts, how much I LOOOOOOVE Jose Villa‘s workshop, then go read them! :) You’ll get the idea of how I felt about my experience in Mexico last week! :)

One of my most favorite things about being there was the people. I am a people person (hence, why I probably love photographing people) so being around and meeting new people was thrilling for me! When you gather some of the best photographers on the planet in one location, amazing things happen. We challenged each other and compared notes. We talked about our deepest, darkest secrets of why and how our businesses were (or weren’t successful)! And we laughed until the stars were tired…we shared stories and wedding disasters! :) It was fantastic! I wouldn’t have asked for a better group of people to be around for a whole week!

Here are some more images from some of the “wedding shoot” that we did around a few small villages near the Hacienda!

And PS…can I just say how much I LOOOOOVE love Joy Thigpin for her fantastic styling with these shoots! :) Joy, you deserve many hugs for your fabulous talents!

krystle and brian :: wisconsin wedding

Krystle and Brian were married a few weeks ago with the most perfectly perfect, gorgeous fall day weather anyone could ask for. The leaves were changing colors, the sun was shining and the smiles on everyone’s faces were GLOWING! :)

We drove up to the church and spotted Krystle right away as she was getting out of her car, giddy as could be that she was getting married today! She hugged all of her girls as she walked into the church to zip her dress on! :) Meanwhile Brian was pacing out in the parking lot with sheer excitement knowing, too, that Krystle was the PERFECT girl to spend every waking moment with! :) She opened the door and started walking towards him. She stopped behind him and gave him a hug….as he turned around both of their eyes lit up, their faces went from a smile to a GLOW and they hugged! He was FLOORED at how amazing she looked (although I would argue that she could have been wearing a paper bag and still would have looked as stunning as she did). They took a few moments. A whole crowd of people could have been watching but they didn’t care. All they cared about was THAT moment…..the moment of 5 minutes alone before they became husband and wife! The moment to soak everything in and know that TODAY was going to change their lives forever! :)

Katie and I looked at each other across the parking lot and we smiled. Because we knew it was going to be an awesome day! :)

I LOOOOOOOVE Krystle’s “WEREEEEE MARRRRIIIEEDDDD” face! :)

cory and amber

The way he looks at her is enough to make anyone smile. Every once and awhile I would catch Cory give Amber “that look”….you know, the look of excitement. Like the kind of excitement that you and I have over eating a super awesome brunch for breakfast because it contains your favorite fruits and homemade chocolate chip waffles with a PERFECT cup of coffee! :) Although there was something different about Cory’s excitement…he had that sense of “forever” on his brain and you could see it in his eyes when he looks at Amber. It was adorable! :)

We sat in the car making small talk as we headed out to the first of our few stops for photos and I could just tell from the get-go that we were all going to laugh then evening away…and that is exactly what we did! :) Both Cory and Amber are beyond excited to be getting married next year. And I am STOKED to be able to share their day with them! :)

The FUNNIEST thing is that we were in this field and the herd of cows (that had started way off in the distance) started to approach us…..Amber and Cory apparently are very cute actors and put on their “I”m super scared that the cows are coming faces!” Do you see what I mean about laughing the entire time I am with them?!?! :) I have a feeling this will continue into their wedding day! :)
